MarcumAsia Concludes 2025 Firm-wide Training, Reinforcing Audit Quality and Auditor Transition Best Practices

Press Releases | Nov 22, 2025

MarcumAsia successfully concluded its 2025 Firm-wide Training in Chengdu, bringing together more than 200 professionals from across its Asia and U.S. offices for three days of technical training, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

As the firm’s largest annual training to date, the program underscored MarcumAsia’s long-term commitment to audit quality, regulatory compliance, and the consistent execution of cross-border audit engagements.

Firm-wide Audit Training Focused on SEC and PCAOB Requirements

The 2025 training agenda was designed to address the evolving regulatory environment facing Asia-based companies listed or seeking to list in the U.S. capital markets.

Key technical sessions covered:

· SEC accounting and reporting updates

· PCAOB Quality Control (QC1000)  framework

· Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) Levels 1–4

· IT audit and data-driven audit considerations

· Audit planning, sampling, and execution consistency

These sessions provided practical guidance aligned with current regulatory expectations and inspection priorities.

Auditor Transition Training: Managing Change with Discipline and Transparency

A dedicated course on auditor transitions was a central component of the 2025 Firm-wide Training, reflecting the increasing regulatory and governance focus on change-of-auditor processes.

The training emphasized best practices in communications between predecessor and successor auditors, including:

· Clear and timely information exchange

· Proper documentation and workpaper continuity

· Alignment on audit scope, risk assessment, and opening balances

· Maintaining audit quality and regulatory compliance during transitions

The program reinforced that a change of auditor is a critical process that requires structure, professional judgment, and disciplined execution to support audit quality and investor confidence.

Cross-Border Audit Execution: One Team, One Standard

With participants spanning audit, quality control, IT audit, and advisory functions, the Firm-wide Training reinforced MarcumAsia’s integrated cross-border operating model.

The participation of over 200 professionals highlighted the firm’s stable and expanding talent base, as well as its ability to deliver consistent audit standards across regions.

Through case discussions and cross-office collaboration, teams aligned on methodologies and execution approaches to support complex multinational audits.

This approach reflects MarcumAsia’s commitment to One Team. One Standard. On Time.

Commitment to Ongoing Audit Quality and Professional Development

MarcumAsia’s annual Firm-wide Training is a cornerstone of its quality-driven culture. As regulatory expectations continue to evolve, the firm remains focused on equipping its professionals with the technical expertise, judgment, and coordination required to deliver high-quality audits—particularly in complex cross-border environments and during auditor transitions.

The firm looks forward to building on this momentum in the coming year as it continues to support Asia-based companies navigating U.S. capital markets.
