He noted that the CSRC’s review process has become more efficient, making filings smoother, while two key drivers push companies abroad: stricter selectivity in the domestic IPO market and reduced availability of venture and private equity funds, which pressures management teams to seek listings as promised exits for investors. Bernstein added that while U.S. markets remain attractive for global brands and high-growth companies, Hong Kong continues to serve as a practical near-shore option, particularly for firms in consumer, industrial, and financial sectors.
