Drew Bernstein Quoted in Jiemian News on Outlook for Hong Kong IPOs
In the News | Jun 21, 2024
Drew Bernstein, Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of Marcum Asia, told Jiemian News that IPO momentum in Hong Kong often follows a “success breeds success” cycle — when fund managers see new listings trading above issue price, they are more likely to participate in upcoming deals. However, he cautioned that the true sign of a healthy market is not short-term pops, but whether share prices sustain gains six months to a year after listing. Bernstein added that while new CSRC support policies have improved prospects for Hong Kong IPOs, their long-term success will ultimately depend on macroeconomic data and the quality of companies going public.
